As seen in Forbes, Endangered Wildlife OÜ is proud to be working with Shark Allies to demonstrate the true value of our iconic sharks. It is time that we acknowledge that sharks have been a revenue generator for the entertainment industry for decades and, despite the stigma that has been placed on them, sharks are valuable to the economy, society and, most of all, the environment.
At the start of this year, we decided, if there’s one thing we want to do in 2022, we want to make a real difference for a species. We were then introduced to Stefanie Brendl and we began working with Shark Allies. Along the journey of valuing the sharks, we have come to realise how misunderstood they are and how valuable our work can be in trying to explain why sharks are so important to our Planet.
Endangered Wildlife OÜ values all life, and this statement became far more pertinent with the sharks because we are at the cusp where we really NEED to value all life. Perception, bias and fear leads to hatred with a lack of understanding. This is often a message that we associate with people, but the same holds true with interspecies perceptions.
Biodiversity provides us with so many services, but sadly it is only when the last individual falls that we will truly understand what we have lost. Because once lost, we cannot reverse the that which has been done.
